With millions of workers saying “I Quit” – Companies are scrambling to maintain retention rates and introduce creative ways to maintain their pace of productivity.
Millions of US workers are saying “I Quit”. The pandemic has changed the way we work and the way we think about work. According to Tsedal Neeley, a professor at Harvard Business School and author of the book Remote Work Revolution: Succeeding From Anywhere. “We have changed. Work has changed. The way we think about time and space has changed,” she goes on to highlight that workers now crave the flexibility given to them in the pandemic — which had previously been unattainable.
This historic flood of resignations has almost every employer experiencing labor shortages, especially labor-intensive mundane jobs and tasks that no one really wants to do.
“The Great Resignation is making it clear that companies no longer have the same level of control over workers that they once did. Burned out by everything they’ve endured over the past year and a half, workers are prioritizing their mental and physical health.”
